BLITZKRIEG To Release 'Back From Hell' Album In September

July 8, 2013

NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) legends BLITZKRIEG will release their eighth full-length studio album, "Back From Hell", on September 13. The band's first CD since 2007 will be made available via Metal Nation Records (previously Neat Records) after recently signing a three-album deal with ex-Neat Records boss and TYGERS OF PAN TANG founder/vocalist Jess Cox.

Formed in 1980, BLITZKRIEG has gone through a lineup change since the last release, with three members leaving. Mainman/vocalist Brian Ross's son, Alan Ross, takes over from Guy Laverick on guitar. BLITZKRIEG's current incarnation still includes longtime member Ken Johnson on lead guitar, with new drummer Micky Kerrigan and bassist Bill Baxter replacing the departed Brewis brothers, Phil and Paul. The new lineup has completely revamped its set, bringing in tracks not played for many years, including the very first single, "Buried Alive", which also contained the classic song "Blitzkreig" (famously covered by METALLICA) as its B-side. BLITZKRIEG will also play a couple of numbers from Brian Ross's other band SATAN in an extended two-hour set.

BLITZKRIEG will embark on an extensive world tour, starting with a warm-up show in Tilburg, The Netherlands on September 13, followed by 10 dates in Germany.

BLITZKRIEG would like to apologize to fans in Brazil for the cancelation of the first leg of the "Back From Hell" tour last month and hopes to reschedule the dates later in the year. Part 3 of the trek is being booked now, taking in Spain and Portugal with other dates to follow, promoting the album on a rolling tour over the next two years.

BLITZKRIEG's latest album, "Theatre Of The Damned", was released on August 10, 2007 via Germany's Armageddon Music. The CD was recorded at Absurd Studio in Hamburg with producer Schrödey and co-producer Biff Byford (SAXON).

"Theatre Of The Damned" was the follow-up to "Sins And Greed", which was released in July 2005 via Metal Nation Records.
